Jurong Lake District is set to become the largest business district outside the central area. Currently, the area around Jurong East MRT station consists of offices, retail spaces, and institutional uses. By 2028, the district will see the addition of more offices, community facilities, a new Jurong Region Line station, and an integrated transport hub adjacent to Jurong East MRT station. A new 120-hectare precinct will seamlessly connect to the existing commercial center and MRT station through elevated pedestrian walkways and green, tree-lined streets. This precinct will feature a mix of offices, housing, and amenities within a car-lite, park-like environment. With more flexible zoning, land tenure, and phased development compared to other districts, companies can explore new development concepts and innovative ways to integrate living, working, and recreation.

Over the next two decades, Jurong Lake District will be a focal point for new developments, with the government prioritizing land sales within the area. A new, comprehensive planning approach will introduce flexi-use sites alongside business park spaces, enabling companies to consolidate all their activities and teams in one location. The large plots will provide developers the flexibility to design scalable campuses tailored to business needs, all at competitive rental rates.
